Hello, my name is Bouchra (bush-rah)!
I’m half-Algerian, half-Sri Lankan, and was born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I do not believe in defining ourselves by our passports, cultures, or national identities. Fusion cuisine is something I play around with in my everyday cooking, and I believe that fusion is the way to go when it comes to how you live your life. Especially if you cannot pick one culture that you truly identify with. I know people like me are still a bit uncommon, but the world is nothing but a small village, and we’re increasing in number, constantly.
By day, I own and operate Aurora Hikma, the GCC’s first outsourced messaging department, which is a fancy way to say that we do translation for marketing purposes and help businesses reach Arabic speakers online (and offline) by using the correct Arabic messaging to engage them. By evening, I wear many hats: mother to a beautiful, smart 5-year-old, wife to a serial entrepreneur in the making, aspiring writer and influencer, amateur fusion cuisine artist, and just overall kickass girl boss trying her hardest to keep things from falling off her plate.
I have too many ambitions for my good, and while no doctor has dared label me yet, I tend to have some ADHD-like symptoms, even though I grew up when scrolling wasn’t something readily available at my fingertips. This is why I have a now page, where you’ll find what I’m focusing on in the now, rather than my jumbled long lists of what I want to do with my life, like my impossible list, which is still a work in progress.
